Cask Strength release No.5 is matured predominantly in first-fill, sherry-seasoned European oak casks including Pedro Ximénez casks which deliver distinctive notes of sweet, sun-dried fruits. ABV is 64.7%

Cask Strength Release No.5 opens with complex and spicy aromas of dried cloves, fresh oregano, crushed pine needles and lingering wood smoke. Deliciously intense flavours of sun-dried fruits follow – prunes, dates and sultanas – reflecting the influence of the Pedro Ximénez casks, while the first-fill European oak casks provide aromatic hints of liquorice and winter spices balanced by cocoa nibs and light oak from the ex-bourbon casks. A delightfully fragrant and smoky finish lingers on notes of sherried fruits and sweet spices.

Matured predominantly in first-fill, sherry-seasoned European oak casks – including Pedro Ximénez casks – plus refill casks, ex-bourbon casks and a small quantity of first-fill, sherry-seasoned American oak casks, all hand selected by Gordon Motion, our Master Whisky Maker
