Porfidio Plato - Dette luksuriøse mærke blev skabt af den dengang 30-årige østriger Martin Grassel, der kom til Mexico i 1990. Han startede med, at leje sig ind på forskellige brænderier hvor ham fremstillede ren agavebaseret tequila. Han opfandt det originale navn, tappede sine eksklusive destillater i de nu berømte symbolske kaktusflasker og vagte med kvalitet, udformningen og de høje priser både opsigt og anderkendelse såvel som fjendtlige indstillinger. Porfidio Añejo Single Barrel er en meget kompleks og frugtig krydret tequila med en tydelig agavearoma og intensive honningnoter. Porfidio was established in 1991 by Austrian Martin Grassl who adopted the nom de plume Ponciano Porfidio. Grassl combined his family background in alcoholic spirits production in Austria, Europe, with his professional background in spirits marketing in Japan and general knowledge of Mexico by transplanting state- of-the-art European spirits technology, and packaging the ensuing high quality distillate in accordance to the highest Japanese design standard. By so doing, Grassl elevated an indigenous working class spirit from a developing country into the same hemisphere & beyond as the world´s finest Single Malts and Cognacs. In 1997, Grassl was credited by the Washington Post as the very creator of the super-premium tequila segment and the initiator of a new fashion trend towards luxury tequila in the United States. In 2008, Porfidio is the clear market leader in the ultra-premium 100% Agave segment in Japan and California and has the widest geographic spread of any 100% Agave Brand.
