The Akkeshi Peated Boshu 2021 Single Malt Japanese Whisky, 55%

Nose : Soft and complex. The nose opens with the sweetness of milk chocolate and the richness of dried fruits. Notes of hazelnuts persist and become more delicious, evoking caramelized hazelnuts. A smell of bonfire and a delicate little smoke envelops the whole to offer a beautiful complexity.

Palate : Rich and fresh. Characteristic of the Akkeshi style, citrus fruits dominate. The attack is slightly acidic on the lemon. The mastery of this acidity is of rare finesse. Very fresh, it balances perfectly with the cane sugar notes. We will distinguish fine notes of peat which are maintained with elegance.

Overall : The finish is marked by saline notes due to the proximity of the distillery to the Pacific Ocean. There are also notes of bitter cocoa that blend perfectly with the sweetness of citrus fruits.
